THERMOBREAST Kick-off meeting, 6-7 February 2023 in Haifa, Israel
THERMOMIND Ltd., the leader of the THERMOBREAST EU-funded project, hosted a kick-off meeting on the 6th and 7th of February 2023 in Haifa, Israel to mark the start of an international EU consortium study, which brings together 16 partners from 10 countries. The 3-year project with a total budget of 11 million euros is a part of the Cancer Mission cluster of projects on ‘Prevention, including Screening’. The main objective of the project is to improve the survival rate of breast cancer patients by employing dynamic thermal imaging combined with AI to detect early-stage breast cancer in women of all age groups and breast densities, using a risk-free and non-contact screening modality. In their first face-to-face collaborative project meeting, the key clinical and academic partners discussed the project in depth and ensured that the project is on track to achieve its goal of revolutionizing breast cancer detection. As part of the meeting, a public session was held to demonstrate THERMOMIND screening technology, as well as a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Jeanette Müller, with experts from around the world. The esteemed guests, including the mayor of Haifa, Dr Einat Kalisch Rotem, were also in attendance to support the launch of this promising project.
